In September, Jonathan Yost, editor-in-chief of Racket Magazine spoke to the California Baptist University PRSSA chapter about the benefits of investing for the future. This included how to network and how to find a great internship. Yost discussed his job as editor-in-chief and how he got to where he is today. Yost gave some great advice about how to network and get jobs as college students. One really important point from the session: once you stop learning at your internship, look to go somewhere else. He has a foot in many doors and believes it is beneficial to journalism and public relations majors to always keep an open mind and not go for one specific area of work. The Q&A part of the session allowed the crowd to ask specific questions and pick his brain about how to get jobs and the importance of becoming a well-rounded worker. We thank Jonathan Yost for coming to speak and wish him all the best.
